This post is trageted for those of you with SCOM 2012 SP1 and the Veeam mp for monitoring VMware via scom.
Apparently, there is a known issue regarding the Maintenance mode synchronization capability of the MP.
For those of you who are not familiar with the Maintenance mode synchronization:
The MM sync is a capability in the Veeam mp which switches ESX host into maintenance inside the scom whenever the same ESX host is switched into MM in the Vsphere.
For more information: http://www.veeam.com/veeam-mp/help-center/mp/index.html?maintenance_mode_synchronization.html
In SCOM 2012 SP1 with this MP there is bug which create an unwanted behavior:
When you will switch a ESX host to MM in the Vsphere, the Veeam mp will switch this host to MM inside the SCOM (As it should be) BUT also switch the different VM’s who are hosted on this ESX host to MM.
This unwanted behavior can be fixed with a patch by Veeam (which also fix more known issues in the SP1 version of the MP).
You can find the list of the known issues in here: http://www.veeam.com/veeam-mp/help-center/mp/index.html?known_issues_and_limitations.html
You can download the patch from here:
