SCOM got long way from a simple MOM to a fire breathing monitoring monster.
But for some reason some issues are left untreated for years. One of those things is PowerShell monitoring in the GUI.
For monitors we have this perfect management pack Sample Management Pack – Wizard to Create Powershell-based Monitors by Wei H Lim – Thanks A LOT
But what about PowerShell timed rules ?
Lots of customers are working with PowerShell but the support of PowerShell scripting in the SCOM Console is missing.
So here you go, small Management Pack add-on for SCOM that will add timed PowerShell rules to your Right-Click Create New Rule.
Small note about using parameters in the rule, it uses the value “Argument” in the XML as single line, so if you want parameters or multi param value use the Param($Argument) and a .Split in your script.
